$100 Beach Bums gift certificate

Book a stay, mid-August through the end of October, at the Beach Cruiser you will receive a $100 gift certificate for rentals at Beach Bums. How awesome is that!

During a stay on Anna Maria last October we rented bikes (adult and kid sizes), beach chairs, umbrella and a paddle board from Beach Bums. The staff was super friendly and easy to work with. They delivered all the gear to the house, free of charge, and put it in the gated yard even though we weren’t home. We wanted to rent the paddle board for a couple more days and all it took was a quick call. They also rent coolers, corn hole, kayaks and more.

Beach Bums is located in the heart of Anna Maria at 427 Pine Avenue. They are open 7 days a week from 9am-5pm. If you are hungry while you are at Beach Bums setting up your rental, check out these great places to eat on Pine Avenue…

July 4th on Anna Maria Island

4th of July

A week from today, we celebrate Independence Day. Small towns all are around the country celebrate the 4th of July with pride, excitement and festivities and Anna Maria Island is no exception. The AMI Privateers organize the parade whose route covers the entire length of the island, all seven miles. Starting at 10 AM at Coquina Beach at the southern point of the island and continuing north. More information can be found here. The parade after party will take place at The Ugly Grouper which includes live music, food, and the Privateers awarding their annual college scholarship.  End the day enjoying the Sandbar Restaurant‘s annual fireworks show.

If you live abroad and are thinking about visiting the States during the summer, consider being here for July 4th. What better way to experience a country than on the day they celebrate their independence and identity.

How will Brexit impact travel?

It may be too early to tell what the lasting effects of the Brextit vote will be knowing it has only been a couple days since this historic vote. The immediate impact has been a weaker Sterling Pound against the Euro and American Dollar. In the short-term this will result in travel to Europe and the US being more expensive for the British. What other effects might the vote have on British travel? The Telegraph published a good article on the impact that Brexit may have on travel. The Tampa Bay Times also published an article that addresses the impact of Brexit on the Tampa area which would certainly include Anna Maria Island.
